HUNGARY: European Court rules against NGO Law

In June, the European Court of Justice ruled that Hungary’s NGO Law does not comply with European Union (EU) law, meaning that Hungary’s government could face EU sanctions if it does not amend it. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s response was hardly conciliatory, as he stated that a network of liberal imperialists were forcing their views on others and the courts were part of this network.
