USA: Voter mobilisation versus voter suppression

Although voter suppression is a longstanding phenomenon in the USA, efforts to prevent or discourage some groups, and particularly Black people, from exercising their voting rights have increased over the past decade. Dozens of states passed laws that made it harder for people to vote.

Voter suppression today is the equivalent of the fox guarding the henhouse. Those who are privileged enough to define the laws determine who is in and who is out.
